Meet Bella

This little cutie pie is 3-year-old Bella. She was brought into the San Diego Humane Society on 1/2/2020 for emergency boarding and was absolutely terrified and distrusting of shelter staff. Within a couple of days, though, Bella warmed up and started happily greeting her new friends at the front of her kennel with her favorite raccoon toy, waiting for pets and love. Since arriving at her foster home, Bella has turned into a happy-go-lucky dog.

She is an adult dog that has the spirit of a puppy without the mess! Loves belly rubs and to be next to you. She takes a little bit of time to warm up, but once she does its kisses and love all day! She plays fetch and loves other animals and will shake with joy to play with them. This can be a little intimidating for her foster cat siblings, but Bella has shown only love. Would still do best in a home with no cats.

Bella would do best with a family of dog savvy owners that are diligent and willing to continue doing the good work her foster mom has done in getting her trained. She is extremely good natured, just gets excitable when others around her act that way. Bella is great with other dogs, so would make a nice addition for families that already have dogs. Looking to place with a family with no small children.

Bella knows sit, shake, lay down, stay and come, so far. She is also crate trained, but prefers much more to sit with you on the couch and eat snacks. Bella tends to resource guard when she has too many plushie toys around her, but has no issues at all with just one or two. The staff at the Humane Society thinks she had puppies shortly before arriving to the shelter and that she may be guarding small toys seeing them as her babies.

Please help us get sweet Bella into a safe, loving forever home! If that home isn’t with you, you can still help her by liking, commenting, sharing, and pledging (just comment “pledge” and the amount you’re committed to donating once we find a home for her)…every little bit helps!
