8/20 Beckham is on a trial home visit with his hopeful family-to-be ... fingers and paws crossed!

7/11/2021 Born right around Christmas 2020, Beckham is a puppy with puppy energy. He needs stimulation, training, and lots of love and reassurance. A medium energy boy with bursts of turbo-action, he can entertain himself for periods of time with toys, Kongs and Nylabones. He would LOVE to have a dog-pal to jump and wrestle with! Give him good walks and spirited play sessions throughout the day, and Beckham will reward you with a happy, relaxed evening of snuggles. At just under 30 pounds, he won't take too much of the couch! ;O)

Beck is smart and should train easily. When engaging in unwanted behaviors (inappropriate chewing, barking, jumping up, etc.) he is easily redirected with a squeaky toy. He will go into his crate willingly if enticed with a treat and sleep through the night—no barking and no accidents. He is fairly potty trained, given outings at the appropriate times. (When he wakes up from a nap, following a meal, after a hard play session, etc.) One funny quirk: He takes dishes OUT of the dishwasher! He easily gives up the plate when asked--no food aggression.

Overall Beckham is a wonderful, loving, sweet, silly, eager-to-please, smart little guy, ready to brighten some family's every day ... maybe yours?

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 75-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
