Meet Beck
Beck is low to medium energy, so she is a perfect mix of active and laid back. She's pretty mellow during the day while her foster mom works and loves to lounge around on a dog bed near her desk. She does have short bursts of energy that require play time and mental stimulation activities. She would love a family that enjoys both lounging on the couch cuddling and also spending time outdoors. She burns most of her energy playing with the resident dogs in her foster home and playing with her toys. Give that girl a tennis ball and she will keep herself entertained by tossing it then chasing after it. She would benefit from having a Bark Box subscription and a toy box with a variety of toys to choose from. Her favorite toys to play with are crinkly and squeaky toys, but she also loves toys that she can chew on, too. Puzzle games and lick mats with peanut butter are great ways to keep her busy indoors when it's cold and rainy outside. She would love a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in, and also would love to have some human siblings and puppy friends to play with.
Beck is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She loves to play with other dogs of any size. Her best friend in her foster home is a senior pittie, and she loves to roll around and play with her. She would benefit from having another friendly, confident dog in her forever home so that she can continue learning from as she grows. She has been introduced to cats and doesn't mind them at all. She would need to have slow intros to kitties that have not been around dogs before and baby gates are recommended to give the kitty some personal space if needed. Beck would do best with kids of any age, but she is going to start teething soon, so keeping lots of chew toys and doggy bones around to redirect her with is important. Since she is very sweet, gentle and affectionate, but also super playful, she would do great with a family with kids who want a fun loving pup to play with She loves to receive affection from her humans in the form of belly rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles. She will give you the sweetest puppy kisses to show how much she loves you in return.
Beck is kennel trained, and is working on mastering leash training and potty training. She sleeps in a kennel at night and will not make a peep until she's ready to go potty in the morning. When she gets older, she would love to snuggle up in bed with her new human mom or dad every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible. She has started leash training, but will need her forever human to continue this when she gets home. She is doing well with potty training so far and has started transitioning to going potty outside. If she really needs to go potty and her foster mom doesn't make it to the backdoor in time, she will use the potty pad right next to the door. She will need patience and understanding as she continues working on potty training in her forever home.
Beck's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. She would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse as long as there is a private backyard or fenced in area (not a public dog park) that can be used to take. her out for playtime/exercise. She would also benefit from going to doggy day care so she can make new puppy friends while also burning some energy if you work outside of the home during the day.
Back is too small/young to be spayed, so she will have a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit on top of her adoption and transport fees. Once your vet approves the spay procedure to be done, the $200 deposit will be paid directly to your vet prior to her appointment.
Beck is in a foster home in Central Texas and will be transported once adopted.
If you are interested in adopting Beck, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application.
TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back.
Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. *Applications with electric fences will not be approved for the safety of the dog*
The total cost to adopt is $830, which includes a $400 adoption fee, a $230 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
