What’s amazing plus awesome equal–Me!! I’m Beau.
I am a silly, inquisitive, sweet fella who is still a young pup in dog years but my foster momma says I act more like a teenager if you are measuring by human years.
I know I should have good manners, but sometimes they just seem to escape me. I get really excited to see people and want to just love them to pieces, but my foster momma is helping me understand that sometimes I am too nosey and not everyone likes big dogs being underfoot or all up in their business. Once I’m corrected though I like to lay down and watch what everyone is doing.
If you leave your food unattended, I may happen to come by and want to taste it. Or if you are eating, I may happen to want to watch you intently hoping you will share whatever tasty treat you have with me. Foster momma says this is not good manners so I’m working on that too.
There’s a lot of things I do know how to do well though too. I know Sit, (sort of) Stay, Lay down, Come, Wait, Outside and I take my treats “Easy”. I do use the doggie door to come inside...but I’m still working on it to go outside. What can I say–it’s a complicated piece of equipment!
And since my name rhymes with "no" my foster momma uses words instead like "stop it" "knock it off" or "stop that" and that helps me know what she’s really asking me to do.
I’m currently living with a cat and I’m pretty curious what this thing is and what it wants to do. I understand it’s not a toy but besides that, I’m clueless. I am friendly with it, but I don’t think it likes it when I try to play tag.
Using a leash—do we have to talk about it??? The leash is just so weird and I just don’t understand the concept yet. Do I turn circles with it on or is it a chew toy or am I supposed to zigzag when I wear it? I see other dogs do it but I just can’t figure it out. I am going to need a lot of help with leash training.
I do love being by humans. I’d love to be with a family where the humans are home a lot, or maybe there’s another dog for me to play with. I’m sensitive, too, and understand when my humans don’t feel good. When I curl up next to them real tight and squeezy I think it makes them feel a whole lot better.
My foster momma says I’m “quirky” and “a big lug”. I’m pretty sure those words mean I’m awesome and amazing.
