Meet Beasley

Beasley is ready to share his story! ?

Some things I just do not understand. I don't understand why I ended up in the shelter. I don't understand why I lost everything I had ever known. The part that really gets me though....I don't understand why they left me.

I thought we were best friends forever. We share so many strolls around the property, laughs, and I was so loyal. You were my one and only. So I cannot understand why you left me. Why you handed the leash over to shelter staff and left. I don't understand why you let me end up in a kennel in a crowded shelter and never came back for me. You were all I had....you were my everything....and you left me all alone. I have to hope that you wanted better for me. That deep down you truly did care, and you didn't just surrender me to a crowded shelter for selfish reasons.

Today, I don't have to wonder anymore. I ended up being accepted to this rescue's fluffy butt family. I landed in an amazing foster family, and have begun the search for my forever family. The family that won't ever put me in the shelter and walk away.

My name is Beasley and I am a 3-year-old, 70lb male Golden Retriever mix.

The thing about adopting is you should not do it unless you are absolutely ready. That means you can commit to me for the rest of my life. I am going to be so loyal to my family, and I ask the same in return!

To help make the decision process easier, I had my foster family fill out this questionnaire for me!

-How does your foster act when meeting new people?
Friendly & sweet.

-Has your foster been to any public settings?
He does well in public settings. Likes to see new things. Acts appropriately.

-Does your foster like going on walks?
Yes. He enjoys walks. Smelling new things and seeing what's going on.

-Do you think your foster would enjoy going on hikes?
Probably. Not really sure.

-Is your foster leash trained?
He does well on the leash. He walks the length but doesn't pull.

-How does your foster do on car rides?
He likes to look out the back window. Jumps right in the car and right out without any issues.

-Does your foster jump on people?
No. Hasn't jumped at all.

-Describe your foster dog's energy level?
Laidback and calm.

-Is your foster a big chewer?
No. He hasn't chewed on anything destructively or inappropriate to chew on.

-Does your foster like to play fetch?
He will run after a ball but doesn't do much beyond that.

-Does your foster like to play in the
water?
Unknown.

-Does your foster play with Toys?
A little. He likes chew toys.

-Does your foster have food aggression?
No.

-Does your foster resource guard?
No.

-Do you think your foster would be okay with free-roam of the house even if you are away?
Yes.

-Is your foster potty trained?
Yes.

-Is your foster kennel trained?
Yes.

-Where does your foster stay when no one is home?
Free roam or kennel.

-Where does your foster sleep at night?
Free roam - where he feels like it.

-Would your foster dog do good in an apartment?
Yes.

-Is your foster a big barker?
He barks rarely. Mostly if he's inside and hears something outside.

-Is your foster good with other dogs?
Yes.

-How does your foster act around other dogs?
Playful and sweet. He's not rough playful though.

-Does your foster need another dog in his new home?
Not necessarily. He likes other dogs but he loves his people more.

-Is your foster good with cats?
Unknown.

-Is your foster good with kids?
Yes. I imagine he'd be good with all ages.

-What would be your foster's ideal home?

Beasley would do well in most homes. He is very needy for love and attention. He'd do well in a home with someone home most of the time (or would take him with them when they leave) or another dog to keep him company. He would need to be with another dog that wouldn't be jealous of him getting attention if there was another dog in the home.

-What else can you tell me about your foster?

Beasley is really the perfect dog. He just fits in so well to anything and has the best temperament. He is super easygoing. He is loving and sweet. His favorite thing is getting pets from his humans. He loves to lean into you and get loved on. He lets you know that he loves you and gets a smile on his face every time he sees you. He enjoys romping around the backyard and playing with the other dogs. He is just an all-around wonderful boy!

Now that you know everything there is to know about me, it is time to talk logistics!

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered?
I am being fostered in Oklahoma City, OK

-Would I need to come to pick you up?
Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home! ?

-Can I adopt you even though I don't live in Oklahoma?
Yep, I am not opposed to living in another state!

-How much is your adoption fee?

My adoption fee is $225.

That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
