Bear's Story
Bear is gentle, joyful, and endlessly loving — the kind of dog whose presence feels grounding the moment he’s near you. He moves through the world with an easy confidence, greeting life (and everyone he meets) with a soft tail wag and an open heart. Sweet-natured and calm, Bear is the definition of a “good soul.”

Estimated to be around a year old, Bear carries the best parts of puppyhood without the chaos — playful but not overwhelming, affectionate without being demanding, and content simply being close to his people. He was rescued from a field early in life, and despite his rough start, he has grown into a dog who trusts fully and loves freely.

Bear is incredibly social and people-oriented. He loves everyone he meets, greets new faces immediately, and is fantastic with children. Handling, grooming, and vet visits don’t faze him — he takes it all in stride with a calm, cooperative demeanor that makes him a joy to be around.

When it comes to other dogs, Bear truly shines. He adores canine companionship and thrives in social settings, happily playing, wrestling, or lounging alongside other pups. He’s submissive, easygoing, and shares toys and food without issue. While he would do beautifully as an only dog, he would be especially happy in a home with a friendly dog sibling to share life with.

Bear is still learning some basics like potty training, leash walking, and crate training, but he approaches everything with curiosity and a willingness to learn. He responds well to gentle guidance and consistency and does not display any concerning behaviors. His energy level is moderate — he enjoys walks and playtime, but he’s equally content relaxing at home afterward.

Loving, adaptable, and emotionally steady, Bear is the kind of dog who fits seamlessly into a family — bringing warmth, laughter, and comfort wherever he goes.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://petsave.formstack.com/forms/petsave_adoption_application

+++++++

Bear is currently in foster care in Texas and will be transported to his approved adoptive family.

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we receive your application, our team will review it and reach out to set up an interview with one of our volunteers.
If you have any questions, please email SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com
.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both pets and families.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website:
www.stmuttsrescue.com
