Once we have received your completed questionnaire someone will be in touch to set up an appointment for you to come in and meet the pet(s) you are interested in. If you have questions prior to completing the questionnaire please email info@clarkshelter.org or call (859)737-0053. Appointments will not be scheduled until the questionnaire is completed. This process can typically be completed the same day or by the next day depending on appointment availability.

Bear came to the shelter in extreme condition. He and 4 of his puppies had been housed in a small wire crates with no food or water for an extended period. They were covered in urine and feces and some of them could not even stand on their own because they were so emaciated. Thankfully with a lot of love and TLC the whole bunch pulled through and now that their owner has been held accountable they can be released for adoption.

Bear is full of energy. He is very active and driven and needs a home that can give him the excise outlet he needs. Running, hiking or some type of job will be vital to his success. He is okay with other dogs but what he would really like is a home where he could have his people all to himself. Bear will need additional work on house training and basic obedience but he seems to catch on quickly if given structure. He will take some work because of his past but he is going to be an amazing buddy for the right person. Previous working shepherd experience is required. A fenced yard is required.
