Meet Beano
You know those movies where there’s one guy who’s lived a hard life and another guy who's a prince? And then it turns out that the guy who lived the hard life is the much-better person? That’s what Beano is like. He arrived with all the physical evidence of hard times, but with princely manners and temperament. And, with those intelligent, border-collie eyes and snuggly black-and-white coat, he’s a handsome prince, too!
Beano (or “Beanie”) is potty-trained and crate-trained. He is gentle and quiet, likes to be near his people and gives great cuddles - but he’s confident and not needy. He understands rules, knows several commands, and learns more of both quickly. He’s still working on coming when called and being careful with his teeth when playing or taking treats, but there’s no doubt he’ll be practically perfect in no time! His age is a bit hard to be sure of. He has puppy energy but is not a puppy; he’s mature but not old. His teeth suggest he’s about 7 years old.
Beano was rescued from “inhumane conditions” (as the shelter described) and has some recovery to do. He’s a small medium at only 28 pounds but will likely gain 5-10 more. He has heartworms and will be adoptable after his treatment. He is also available for foster-to-adopt if you want him with you now and can carry out his treatment, paid for by Hero Rescue.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.
Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.
Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
