Bay is a very sweet 1-2 year old Foxhound/Beagle mix.   He weighs approx 40 lbs.

Bay is not a crazy, high energy puppy (although he does do wind sprints around the yard and enjoys playing with the other dogs) 



Bay is sweet natured, gentle, affectionate, playful  - likes to entertains himself with toys...sometimes shy with new people - but gets over it quickly.

He loves to be loved on! He will cuddle with you for hours. His favorite thing in the world is a belly rub!

Bay appears to do well with well-mannered children too. He recently had a young girl visit his foster home - he spent the whole visit cuddling with her.

He is not an escape artist - has been fine contained by wire fencing.



Bay does require a home with a fence only because he has yet to learn to go to the bathroom on leash - walk him 2 miles and he will hold it and come home and go in the fenced yard. 

Hopefully that will change as he becomes more comfortable but for now - a fence is needed. Bay seems to know to go outside to do his business - he uses a dog door into a fenced yard.  If there is no doggie door - he would need a regular "out time" schedule suitable for a puppy.

He LOVES to for walks and car rides.

Bay visits the local dog park daily and makes new human and canine friends easily.

Bay is still prone to the occasional puppy chewing - although not a crazy chewing dog - he needs plenty of chew toys.

Bay is crate trained and likes his crate - however his current foster is not using a crate with him currently and he seems to do pretty well with out as long as your slippers are put away:)

Upon coming into rescue - Bay was originally living in a kennel and having a hard time in the kennel environment resulting in weight loss, losing hair. Bay has been placed in a foster home where he has made great strides.



Because of the skin and weight issues - Bay is on grain-free diet and safflower oil supplements. He has made a full recovery and looks great!



Despite his name - he only seems to "bay" when the other dogs are making noise. He is living with multiple other dogs without any issue at all.  He would really love a home with another young canine playmate in residence!



He walks pretty well on leash -- but does tend to go from side to side in front of you smelling stuff (typical hound!)



He is food motivated but not food aggressive - which makes for easy training.



This is a really sweet boy, friendly boy!

As Bay's foster says "this boy has a double dose of cuteness." You cannot help to be drawn in by his goofy charm and big brown eyes.
