Baxter's Story

The darling dog posted is a pet rescued by Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue.

Please submit an adoption application if interested in adopting this dog, it is available on our website at www.RockyMountainAnimalRescue.com

NAME: Baxter
BREED: Lab/Shepherd mix
GENDER: Male
AGE: 11 months
SIZE/WEIGHT: Medium

HISTORY: Found homeless, hungry, scared, dirty. EMT’s called us to help pick him up on First Nations after being homeless for weeks scrounging for food and no on claiming him.

TEMPERAMENT: He’s a mellow guy! Middle to low ranking. He has an even temperament, very chill. He’s now getting used to coming into the house and enjoys it after getting over the fear of an indoor environment. Baxter is a very sensitive dog. Almost like an old soul. He looks up to you as if to try and communicate.

PERSONALITY: Baxter arrived with PTS due to being homeless and afraid of being touched, so his true personality has yet to blossom but from what we’ve seen, he’s such a sweetheart! He is excited when our car arrives in driveway happy to see someone. He is wagging his tail and a big smile on his face. He lets us pet him now, and especially if you have food and treats. He’s so sweet with the puppies, and he gets along with all dogs and cats. Baxter wants to be with people and would be good as the only dog or with other dogs and pets. He’s just one great adorable big puppy!

BEST MATCH: An adopter to take time to help him out of his shell. Get him socialized around outdoor life—to get into the world to see things. Take him places. Car rides, dog parks to venture around. Hikes to see other dogs and people. Leash walks to get to know a leash.

FAVORITE THINGS: Eating! His meals are still a big thing since he went a long time without them. People nearby. His new thing is now wanting to be inside with you! He will make such a great pet, just needs someone to show him the ropes and go at his pace.

Please submit an adoption application if interested in adopting this dog, it is available on our website at www.RockyMountainAnimalRescue.com
