At the shelter, we have a very special pup named Baxter! He's a young male dog who is athletic, brave, friendly, and protective. He may be a little bit independent and curious, but he's also affectionate and loyal, and he's a good listener who loves to cuddle up with his people after a long day of playing. Unfortunately, Baxter's previous owners couldn't take care of him or his sister anymore, so they brought them to the shelter so they could find a new home. We don't know how he is with other dogs, but he is very friendly with people! If you're looking for a furry companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Baxter is the one for you! This good boy is eager to find a forever home where he can run around and play, get lots of pets, and maybe even learn some new tricks. Thank you for looking at dogs from the Guernsey County Dog Warden Dept. We are a county run facility in Cambridge, OH, we are NOT a no kill shelter! Unfortunately, we must euthanize due to illness or aggression. Adoption fees are $165 for dogs under 5 years old, $100 for dogs over 5 years old and $200 for cell dogs. Adoption fees include, Vaccine (DHPP), Bordetella, Microchip, Heartworm and Lyme testing, Rabies vaccine, Spay/Neuter and a dog license. Dogs will be required to be spayed/neutered before leaving shelter, if not an appointment will be scheduled before leaving the shelter. Please talk to shelter staff for more information.
We only accept cash. We cannot take checks, debit or credit cards. You may also call the shelter: Office hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm.
