Baxter Chihuahua Highland, IN

Meet Baxter. Baxter is a chihuahua mix. He weighs about 15 pounds. (I am surprised he isn't a little more from all the treats he receives. Everyone loves him at the shelter) Baxter has been at the shelter for about 6 months to 1 year. He has been at the shelter a while due to his trust issues. A little backstory on Baxter... He was rescued in a garage. We aren't sure if he was abused or just ignored his whole life. We can't change Baxter's past but we can change his future. Baxter has came a long way with our volunteers!! We are so proud of this little guy. He does a happy puppy tail wag when we give him treats or talk to him in a baby voice.

"If Baxter could talk, I'd say he would have some tales to tell. You have to meet him, spend some time with him and let him give you the once over. He is a sweetie once you guys know each other"

Baxter is older and we hope that doesn't scare you away. Baxter would do best in a home with NO little kids and no super energetic pups. Quick movements can spook him and maybe cause a low growl. Baxter does do well with older and/or senior dogs. Looking to start a new series on Netflix? Baxter would love to join you on the couch!!
