Basil Shiba Inu Springfield, MO

In the heart of a Shiba Inu beats the spirit of a warrior, the curiosity of an explorer, and the loyalty of a lifelong companion. My name is Basil, a 20 pound, 5 year old, Shiba Inu guy. I came from a breeder release program and now am learning what it takes to be a dog living in a home. I don't yet know exactly what I am supposed to be doing, like going potty on the grass or walking on a leash, but I am learning! As a dog who lived in a breeding environment, I was deprived of all of the pleasures that normal dogs living in homes experience. My personality will only be revealed over time as I transition from the puppy mill to a home. It is important to know that I will need a family who is patient and unconditionally loving as I learn lots of new things at my own pace. Due to the fact that I don't know how to walk on the leash yet, I will need a home with a privacy fenced yard. I will need a calm environment...without a lot of noise...or little ones running around as I am still very scared. Older children would likely be OK! It would be helpful if there was another dog in the home to show me the way. I may be a scared soul now, but with your love and support, I'll become a symbol of resilience and affection.

My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
