This handsome boy is Basil!

Basil is an approximately 8-month old male Rhodesian Ridgeback/Redbone Coonhound mix and will weigh around 60-75 lbs. as an adult (best guess). Basil was rescued after being abandoned as a small puppy at a soccer field in OKC.

Basil is a very good-natured, playful, and affectionate boy. He is great with other dogs (currently in foster with 7 other dogs of all sizes). He needs another playful dog around his size in his new home. Basil loves other dogs and looks to them for guidance and play time!

He loves to wrestle with his sister and the other dogs in the house and will come up to you for attention and love. He is a fairly independent boy and will go out on his own if no one else wants to play with him.

Having another playful dog in the house is a must. He has lots of energy and needs another dog to help with socialization.

Good with cats? There are cats in the home but he hasn’t had a chance to interact with them in the same room. Currently he can sniff them through a pet gate and he doesn’t seem to care about their presence.

Good with kids? There are no kids in the current foster home, but Basil has been very friendly towards children at adoption events. Of course, proper supervision or older children with dog handling experience are best.

House Trained? To a doggy-door!

Basil is crate-trained and doing well on leash training.

Basil is neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.
