Meet Barrie

Barrie is a sweet girl, named after the sister of the man who found her:). Barrie had shown up on the man’s porch and was in pretty rough shape. Her good samaritan took her to the vet to make sure she was ok and we are very thankful to have this special little girl safe here at STAF. We think Barrie could be a mix of golden retriever and setter. She weighs around 30 lbs (could definitely afford to put on a few more) and our vet thinks that she is around 18 months old. Barrie has the BEST under-bite that we have ever seen and she is about as adorable as they come…utterly squeezable:).

Barrie is great with dogs, cats and kids. She is making huge strides in her housebreaking and this little girl aims to please. She loves everyone she meets and will melt your heart when you see the –thank you- in her eyes. Still quite the young pup she will need an active home and basic positive based obedience training. Although Barrie’s start in life was pretty tough it is easy to see that she loves and is soaking up all the love and affection that she is getting from the STAF volunteers. Barrie is definitely a glass ½ full type of girl and can’t wait to take the next step in her journey. We are looking forward to connecting her with a forever family to love this girl like she has always deserved!

Barrie’s estimated birth date November 2017
Barrie will need: An active home to give this young girl plenty of exercise and a patient and committed home to work with Barrie on her house training and basic obedience.
Barrie will love: A fenced backyard to play in, a canine playmate and maybe trips to doggie daycare.

Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
