Barnes Labrador Retriever woodridge, IL

Hello, my name is Barnes. I am 3-5 year young Black Lab and Irish Wolfhound mix. Wolfhound because I have some wiry fur in me.

I was found as a stray and my Treasured Animal Rescue angel brought me to her nice and warm home where I now live. There is another dog here and sometimes some little kids come to visit me. I love to play! I can run and run and have a great time. My dog buddy's name is Noble and I would love for us to be adopted together. Not necessary, just a suggestion.
My foster mom describes me as her "lanky" boy and full of energy. I also love my toys, especially chew toys. I just don't like rawhides. I also love to take walks with my foster mom and we can walk a long distance together.
I am a true gentleman and I am mostly potty trained. Practice makes perfection right? I don't mind my crate but sometimes I am naughty and my foster mom tells me to go to my crate. She said: "young man, you could benefit from some training!"
Did I tell you that I am really smart? I know to SIT and STAY. I have to stay before my foster momma gives me my food, it has become a game between us. I am also very tidy and I wait by the door when I come in so that my foster mom can clean my paws so I don't mess her carpeting. I told you I am a gentleman! I am a quick learner.

I went to the TAR doctors for my check up and he told me that I was Heart worm positive. My foster mom told me to tell you that is very curable and that TAR will take care of the treatments. I will start my treatments soon so don't worry. I just can't run around like a wild man for a few months.
My absolutely most favorite thing in the wide world is to give you kisses. I am very affectionate and I just love the company of my people. Guess what? I know how to hug! yes, I see all humans hugging and I wanted in on the action so I learned how to do it. Smart I tell ya!
I am ready for my forever home. I promise that I will always greet you with kisses and that I will always stay by your side. I will put a smile on your face every time you see me and I'll keep you warm at night. You will see, when you meet me you will fall in love with me. Come over, I'll greet you with a big hug!

Heart worms are 100% curable. The treatment requires a series of injections. Barnes will start his treatment on 3/5. TAR will cover the cost of the treatment at one of our approved Doctors. Barnes will have to be kept under restricted activity until he is cleared by the doctors.
