Hi, my name is Barnaby! I am really excited to find my forever humans and wanted to share a little bit about me before we meet.

Here’s the basics – I am 2 years old, 52-pounds, house-trained, and am totally okay to hang out in my crate when you have to leave the house.

I asked my foster mom to describe me in one sentence and she nailed it! She said, “I am a sweet, goofy, happy nut who enjoys his people and having a quiet spot to sit and watch the world go by.” Totally me.

I should share with you that it does take me some time to get used to a new space or situation. I do really well when I am surrounded by positivity and receive reward-based training, and with patience, love, and time, my true self comes shining through.

Some of my favorite things are being able to go for a long walk every day (amazing!), treats especially when they are in a brain game toy, sniffing and observing the world around me, and singing. I am a pretty good singer if I do say so myself; however, shared wall neighbors may not appreciate it so no apartments or condos for me.

Remember how I said I like observing? I love it! I also love finding a perch to observe from like on top of my crate, the top of the stairs, the top of the couch… I just love being able to see what’s going on.

I’m good with most of the dogs I have met – I am still learning social cues and with my bursts of energy, can be a bit much for calmer dogs. My foster took me to meet a cat and I was curious but that was about it.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.

Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed.
