Bane is a goofy, playful boy. He can be reserved at first, but once he knows you want to play and interact with him, hell stick to your side like Velcro. He warms up slowly to people if they interact positively with him and at his pace. We recommend slow intros for everyoneeach family member will need to work to gain his trust. Once that trust is earned, you can look forward to many games of Tug (once he trusts you he will indicate this by bringing you a tug toy), fetch, finding treats, playing with his kong, he also likes to be chased, however, that is a game thats done only once he trusts you. He loves playing in the water, especially trying to catch water out of a hose sprayer and enjoys going on car rides and walks. He's always up for a new adventure.
Bane is very smart and quick to learn new tricks and ques. He is learning sit/stay/come/settle/leave it/find it/wait/muzzle up and working on our heel/not pulling. He LOVES mozzarella cheese (he will do anything for it!). He's eager to please yet has an independent streak about him He can also be quite determined when he decides he needs or wants something and will be sure to tell you sohell definitely keep you on your toes. Hes a curious boy who likes to problem solve so his future adopter will need to help his mind grow through continued training and mind puzzles. On our walks, he has a very confident gait and loves to explore and sniff everything.
Bane will need a rottie-savy adopter who can pay very close attention to his body language as he will give off small signals when hes uncomfortable (lip curling, stops panting, very low growls). He can be a very crafty boy so he needs a rottie-savy adopter to help give him direction and help him become a good canine citizen. His adopter will need to give him consistent training and exercise otherwise he will get jumpy/mouthy. Training is a must to help redirect his temperament. Hes extremely playful and loves to herd. Fetch and mozzarella cheese are the ways to his heart. He is still growing out of his puppy manners and is not a huge cuddler but does enjoy pets/belly rubs once he gets to know/trust you. Once hes super comfortable with you, he will push himself in between your legs and ask for side/butt scratches while staying underneath. As the bond between him and his person grows, he'll ask for more love/leans/pets and belly rubs. He LOVES his crate. When he gets overstimulated/antsy, he is asking to go to his crate.
He gets along great with his fosters female Rottie but since he has such a high prey drive, we dont recommend him with smaller dogs and cats. He's been fine meeting small kids on walks however due to his energy and size, we recommend a home with older kids. Bane has thrived in his fosters home and with continued training, he will make a great addition to a Rottie-savy home.
