Meet Bandit (ADOPTED!)

**BANDIT HAS BEEN ADOPTED!**Looking for a big, goofy, sweet lug of a dog to complete your family?! If yes, then Bandit might be your guy. We rescued this handsome and unique-looking fella from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. Bandit reminds us a bit of Mr. Potato Head. It appears spare parts were taken from almost every breed to create one perfect pup. His ears are too small for his giant thick head; he has a stocky, hefty body, massive tree trunk legs, and the most adorable "worry" wrinkles around his noggin. We were so perplexed regarding his possible breed mix, we ran a DNA test and the results detected 17 breeds that make Bandit so unique! The largest portion of his DNA, 21% comes from the Labrador Retriever, followed by equal proportions (16%) of two other breeds, Boxer and Husky, 12% Chow, and smaller percentages (less than 10%) of Rottweiler, Pit Bull, Collie, Shetland Sheepdog, Aussie, Cattledog, and a few other breeds. He is a true all-American mutt! Bandit is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 90 pounds.

Bandit loves making new friends and is a confident, happy dog. He almost always has a smile on his face matched with a clownish, fun-loving attitude. Bandit loves to play fetch, toys, long walks, and snuggles and will make an excellent, loyal companion for one lucky household.

He is sharing his foster home with several other canine siblings and gets along well with other dogs but does not do well with cats. He is crate trained and housebroken. He can be a bit boisterous at times and isn't always aware of how large and powerful he is, so a home without very small children would be most ideal for him. He does not seem to know any basic commands. Still, he is very attentive and intelligent, albeit a bit stubborn and independent. Obedience classes with his new guardians are encouraged.

Bandit is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines. He is taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee to the rescue is $375. He is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after submitting an application.
