Meet Bamboo! Bamboo was originally a stray in Texas and somehow ended up on the euthanasia list in a shelter in Houston. Thankfully he was saved at the last moment and made his way up to happier times in Maine. <br/>Bamboo is 1-2 years old, 50lbs and is probably a husky, shepherd mix. <br/>This dog has a personality. He will paw your hand if you stop petting him too soon, yell at you if he wants something that you are not giving him and jump with all four feet off the ground when excited. He is incredibly smart, picking up tricks after a couple minutes. He learned to sit and lie down within the first day of coming to stay with us. Bamboo is a very typical husky, he loves to be active and would make a wonderful hiking and running partner. After you tire him out he is more than happy to lay down and nap for a couple hours. He needs structured exercise daily to thrive. Being let out in a fenced in backyard every few hours is not enough stimulation for this smart boy. He needs to go on walks/hikes and runs. Bamboo LOVES other dogs, he would love to have a doggy friend in his forever home. He has not been cat tested but as he is a husky with typical husky prey drive we do not believe he would do well with cats. He does not have an aggressive bone in his body. All he wants is love, if you sit out the ground next to him he will try his best to get into you lap, he wants to go everywhere with you. Currently he has a little separation anxiety which is typical among dogs who were abandoned but this is something that trainable and should get better as he sees that you consistently come back. He has NO food aggression or resource guarding. He is house broken. He really just wants as many pets and cuddles as he can get!
