Look at this big boy!! He is a 70 pound hunk of goofy love and is ready to find a forever home. He was found as a stray in Star Valley and then taken to the shelter but no one came to claim him. He is good with other dogs and loves to cuddle people! He is a typical northern breed and will need lots of exercise and an understanding of his needs. Malamute mixes are busy dogs who need both mental and physical stimulation so that they behave themselves! If you are looking for a cuddly pile of fluff to keep you warm and entertained then Balto is your guy. Come on in and introduce yourself!

Please know that our intention is to insure long lasting committed homes for the animals at the AAC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit we reserve the right to refuse adoption.

-We require potential adopters to foster a dog for at least one night prior to adopting once they have an approved application submitted.
-We welcome out-of-area adopters, but please be aware we do require prospective adopters to come to our facility and meet the animal in person. You may either foster the dog locally in pet friendly lodging (preferably with any other dogs you own) or if you choose to drive the dog back home you agree to drive the dog back to Jackson if the dog isn't a good fit. Before you make the trip we encourage you to fill out an adoption application and submit it, to be sure you will qualify to adopt. Adoption applications can be filled out on our website. We cannot "hold" any animal. We have a "first qualified adopter can foster first" policy.
