Meet Bailey

After 7 months waiting to be free. The circus is ready to go!
Barnum and Bailey are a show of their own! These boys were previously kenneled outside to be used for breeding but they had a love for adventure and knew better things were waiting for them. They have been volunteer favorites from the day they came to town. Being accustomed to outdoor adventures. Kennel life inside the big tent has been challenging for them. They enjoy their walks outside with they favorite volunteers and time with staff. They are charming and smart. They deserve the best active family we can give them!!
Their life up to this point has been ruff. Who is ready for a new loyal best friend?
Background:Used for breeding, tied outside. Found running loose dragging his heavy tie out chain and carrying Santa back to Barnum to play with. He's good brother.

Personality plus. Bailey is spirited and very sweet one on one. He will need calm leadership. Both respond well to correction and want to please. He can be bouncey and might do better with older children.

Active. Good Walker, once away from the loud barking.
Bailey is always ready for adventure, he's active, and loves to smell all the smells and play with toys. When given the opportunity, he will decorate for the holidays all on his own. He may be a Santa retriever- willing to rescue blow mold decorations and bring them to you. Just in time for our Christmas in July festivities!

Very treat motivated. Training skills: Sit, paw, down.

Kennel stress has caused Bailey to be restless. He will need time to decompress. He will need basic obedience training to help him figure out what life is now and what is expected of him.
He will need to know his crate is a good place where he gets yummy treats and good things. He will need the opportunity to go in and out of his crate when he wants to so he is not stressed. Then he won't mind so much when the door is shut. He may not do well being shut in a crate for hours.
He does not like being confined with everyone walking by him.
Bailey can be excitable to get out of his kennel but settles down quickly on the walk.
Because both have been restricted for months they have some manners to work on. Who wants a fun project? Can you help them?
The kennel stress affects dogs differently. Things were are working on:
Sometimes mouthy to get the attention they crave. Hey pick me- look at me!! Take me out! Don't walk by me!!! This is short term behavior and can be easily redirected.

Bailey might be dog selective. Although he came in with Barnum he dislikes certain humane society residents he has to walk by. Bailey will need some boundaries regarding what he can chew on. He loves chew bones and toys.

Let's take care of these boys and get them off the streets into a great home where they will never have to hunt down a Santa blow mold decoration for entertainment again! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 62lbs Age: 2yrs 8mths 3wks Animal has been Neutered
