Bailey Poodle Mentor, OH

Bailey is a poodle mix weighing about 10 pounds. She is a puppy mill survivor and will need a VERY patient home (preferably one that has experience with mill dogs). She is approximately 5 years old.

Bailey is very curious and alert and constantly is aware of her surroundings. She is very shy and still scared, adjusting to "normal" life outside of the puppy mill. She is a very quiet dog and does not bark very often. She is not destructive at all on any furniture or any other items in the house.

At this time she is definitely not a lap dog. She is very stiff and avoids eye contact when she is being held. Even though she is scared, she does let her foster mom pick her up and likes to be nearby and part of the house.

She gets along great with other dogs and has quickly learned the pecking order of her foster siblings. She will need a home that has a dog buddy and a fenced yard. Bailey loves going outside and can spend hours exploring the backyard. Her foster dog siblings have taught her how to try and catch squirrels. She will spend hours with her paws on the trees watching them play in the branches.

Bailey is not crate trained and it will take a lot of patience before she becomes housebroken.

Since Bailey came into rescue in September her foster mom has seen great improvements. She is ever so slowly gaining a little confidence. We are hopeful she will continue to transform into the self-confident poodle, we know she is!

She is up to date on vaccines, spayed and had a dental -where unfortunately she lost most of her teeth, but that hasn't bothered her appetite one bit! She loves her Fresh Pet meals.
