Meet Bailey

Bailey
11yr old Beagle Mix

Meet Bailey!
Bailey is the most wonderful dog you will ever meet. She is a 10 year-old Beagle with lots of love to give! Bailey lives in a foster home with a large female dog, a school-age child & baby. She absolutely loves attention and would do great in most any type of home - as long as the children respect her space and shorter frame, and any other resident dog has a respectful and lower-mid energy play style to keep her safe!
Bailey thrives on her daily naps and routine. She sleeps in a crate quietly from 11pm - 7am. She wiggles excitedly when she sees it is time for her morning and afternoon neighborhood walks. Her stamina is quickly improving and for her health, she needs a family with the time & commitment to routine exercise as she has many pounds to lose. Bailey has an adult home with her all day and stays clean as long as she is let out every 4-5 hours. Please keep in mind that Bailey was likely not walked in her former life and prefers to only go to the bathroom when off-leash in the yard, so a backyard is helpful but not required. Most of her day is spent snoozing, but she absolutely loves nuzzling up to your leg for snuggles, time with her humans in bed (with a lift up), supervising the children's playtime, and is slowly learning how to play with her stuffies. She has not had interest in playing with dogs yet but happily tolerates them.
Bailey has no food aggression and a lovely & gentle demeanor. When you apply, we will share more about her medical needs. Bailey has hypothyroidism and will require twice daily medication for life to manage this along with regular exercise. Bailey has invertebral disc disease, common in her breed, which is managed with daily pain medication but has shown no signs in slowing her down or causing any pain. This will likely be alleviated with weight loss. Finally, Bailey has likely environmental allergies which will need to be treated with an allergy medication every 1-3 months.

The adoption fee is $600 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), deworming, Flea and tick prevention and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.
**For puppies under 6 months a $200 spay/neuter rebate will be given with proof of spay/neuter certificate signed by a vet, if they have not been done prior to adoption.**
**Please note we DO NOT adopt our dogs as outdoor/farm dogs. These dogs are coming to us as stray, roaming or dogs that have lived a life tied to a chain. Our goal is to bring them in the house off the chain and give them a pampered indoor dogs lifestyle. Unless otherwise stated we will not even consider a home that has intentions of leaving our dogs outdoors or tied to a chain**
***We do require every applicant to provide a vet reference and we do follow up with your vet. If you do not currently have a vet as you have no pets, we strongly encourage you to do your research and contact vets to make sure they are accepting new patients. You must have a vet in place before bringing a new dog home. You will be required to give your vet permission to release information to us, we also require two personal references as well that will be contacted. We have policy and procedure in place while screening homes. If a family refuses any step in the process they will not qualify for adoption. We are not currently doing adoptions across the boarder.***
