Meet Bacon (foster to adopt)

Howdy, I’m Bacon!
I’m 55# and about 18 months old but my foster mom says I’m an old soul. I am known for being an epic snuggler and love being with my people and my foster sister Delilah.

My perfect day would include breakfast (I love food!) rolling on my back in the backyard grass, tearing apart some stuffed animals, dinner (did I mention I love food?) cuddling with my humans, going for walks, and playing tug with my foster siblings!

I am really smart and catch on quickly; I have not had any accidents in my fosters house and even taught myself the doggy door so I can go out to sunbathe on the back deck. I can be shy at first and need a few minutes to warm up to new people/dogs/situations. Once I do, we will be best buddies; especially if you play tug or throw a ball for me.

A few other things you should know about me:
? I’m OK in a crate but my foster parents let me sleep in the bedroom with them because I’m a good boy. Besides, I’d rather be with my people than in the crate.
? I have good leash manners and rarely pull but I do feel more confident when my foster sister dog walks with me.
? I bark sometimes when new dogs or people walk past the house.
? I’m not destructive in the house though I’m still working out which items are toys or not (sorry about that roll of tape!)

My mom says I’m ‘mouthy’ which means: when I’m excited I like to put things in my mouth (like your hands) and I nibble when really excited. We are still working on replacing hands with toys so It’s best for me to be in a home with bigger kids and with a family that will continue to work with me.

My ideal family would have a dog for me to play with, bigger kids, no cats, a yard to run around in, and the desire to help me continue to work on training.

If you think we'd make a good match, fill out an application and let's find out!

He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives and has been treated for heartworm.

He is part of our foster to adopt program. The rescue will cover his getting vetted by our veterinarians during the foster period, if additional vetting is needed. If it is a love connection the foster gets first dibs to adopt. Please fill out an application or email us at if you are interested in fostering her. Typically the adoption fee is $350 but if you foster and decide to adopt we show our gratitude by providing a $50 discount plus his vetting.
