Bachelor has been waiting for over two years at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter for the right person to find him and show him the love and comfort of a true forever home. Found as a stray, this smart, sweet boy is a shelter favorite - he's handsome (he likes to look his best and appreciates the glow a nice bath gives his coat), easy-going, walks nicely on a leash and is always up for new adventures (take him on a car ride or for a swim and he'll be overjoyed). His shelter fan club reports that Bachelor seems to have never known real comfort and would blossom as an indoor dog with his own comfy bed. He has been struggling lately with the stress and boredom of kennel life, and they are eager to see him flourish with the love and guidance of his own family. His teeth are worn down badly so he'll need softer chew toys and balls, and he has a grain allergy that can easily be managed with the proper food. Bachelor takes a little time to warm-up and decompress (he can come off as aloof when meeting new people), and would do well with an attentive older couple or single adult looking for a devoted sidekick. Born Again Pit Bull Rescue regularly works with the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located in Crescent City, CA—a small coastal town on the OR/CA border. The Del Norte Shelter is a limited facility in a rural area that's often at capacity. While the dedicated staff and volunteers that run the shelter offer the dogs as much comfort and compassion as possible, they struggle with low budgets, aging buildings, small indoor kennel runs, odd adoption viewing hours and low foot traffic. The Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter is open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are typically closed Saturdays and Sundays though sometimes offer special weekend adoption hours.
