Baby (known as Baya by her foster) is a 5 year old, 50lb, Cattle Dog mix. She originally came from a county shelter in Texas where she was found as a stray and made her way into the care of BDRR following Hurricane Harvey. This sweet, shy girl has overcome a lot of changes in the past couple months and is looking for a patient family to help bring her out of her shell. Baya is crate trained and learning basic manners. She recently completed heartworm treatment and has been cleared by the Vet to resume normal activity. Baya has never lived in luxury, so toys are a foreign concept, though she is a quick learner and very food motivated. No worries, this food connoisseur is active enough she doesn't have to watch her waistline! Baya is good with other dogs and even ignores the cat in her foster home. She also enjoys car rides and is becoming a good walking/hiking partner. Baya would be best suited for an adult home (or possibly older teens) and another confident dog she can lean on for encouragement. She bonds closely to her caretakers (she even gives Hugs!), but lacks confidence and needs more exposure to different environments and sounds. She has great potential, she just needs a family willing to help her overcome her insecurities. Baya is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.
