Azar is looking for an outdoorsy, active companion. Are you ready to introduce her to your favorite hiking trails?

She is a two-year-old German shepherd with plenty of energy to keep up with you.
Azar is in the smaller range for a Shepherd and this makes it easy for her to ride passenger. Road trip to the wilderness, to the dog park, or just to the local coffee shop. She is ready to go. She's as happy playing in the yard with you, as she is running around with other dogs.
She's never met another dog she didn't like.

Once she's had her daily exercise, she likes to stretch out on the couch with you. When she stretches out on the couch you'll wonder if she really is small. Her favorite movies are K9, Max, and Rin Tin Tin. Do you see a trend?

Azar is all of the best German Shepherd traits ; intelligent, loyal, curious, and alert. What happens when you combine all these traits? You get a little mischievousness as well. Azar needs a companion that is firm but fun. Can you appreciate a gal who keeps you on your toes? Can you keep this little girl's brain active and happy?

Azar doesn't care if her pack is just you, or you and your family. She currently resides in a household full of humans. She loves them all, and has a unique relationship with each one. She bonds best with whoever spends quality time with her.

Azar only asks for companions who can understand her traumatized childhood and have some patience with her. Especially when she's meeting new people and new environments. She didn't get to explore all the typical puppy first as a puppy, because she was quarantined with parvo. Her foster mom says she's a completely different dog now but she still needs a little extra support sometimes.

Azar is not a big barker. Isn't that great news! She does communicate more with growl sounds. This can sometimes confuse people. Once you spent time listening, you'll be able to translate. Azar has never shown any aggression.

She wouldn't mind a home with a cat. She does sometimes forget the dogs and cats don't play the same, so she needs a feline friend who understands how to remind her when she's being too much.

Azar is not interested in sharing a home with livestock, non feline small animals, or birds.

Like all Mikey's Chance dogs, this dog will come to you from a foster home that has provided loving one-on-one attention, socialization and some basic training, as well as quality food and exercise.
