AXIS is a 3 1/2 yo old Husky with one of the biggest personalities you will ever find! He is handsome!! He is smart! He is silly & goofy beyond belief! AXIS looooves to sing & he looooves to swim!! He also loooves to be held & snuggled up close. He is the total package! AXIS is great with other dogs in social situations but will do best in a home as the only dog. He tends to think all people & food belong to him, which has the potential to create "domestic issues" :) But he will fill your home with the JOY of 10 dogs...we promise! AXIS likes to go on walks, hikes & visit dog friendly places. He walks well on his leash + harness, rides perfect in the car & he knows how to make a human smile! AXIS also has many dog friends at NMDOG HQ & participates in playgroups. He has been in the NMDOG program for over TWO YEARS...waiting on FoReVeR. We are baffled as to why AXIS doesnt have a home yet, it must be a very special one.

AXIS found his inner extrovert & has been given the opportunity to blossom into his true personality & what a personality he has! But he also has a super sensitive side which must be nurtured (like most Huskies) & prefers a calm, stable home environment. AXIS needs a human that will understand & provide for his needs, while finding humor in his shenanigans! He has all of the love in the world to give & he is beyond ready to give his whole heart to a special someone. The lucky family that adopts AXIS will be blessed with his song, his loyalty & a lifetime of good, honest Husky entertainment! AXIS requires a 5 foot minimum non chainlink fence & breed experience is a plus! AXIS suffers from food allergies, but we have created a feeding protocol that works for him & as a result....he has found relief & is now thriving. His allergy condition will be discussed with potential adopters....but dont let that deter you, because its totally manageable! Duck! Duck! Duck! & one pill a day...thats all you have to remember :) We are seeking a home without human children - kiddos are a lot for AXIS & they tend to make him nervous. He is sweet to children, but prefers a home without them.

If you see a dog you are interested in that says "in need of a foster home", we are currently seeking a temporary foster home for that dog in order to provide them with the cozy & loving experience of a home environment while we work hard to find their forever family. This also frees up space & funds, which enables us to save another life. There is never a cost to foster for NMDOG & you will have the dedicated support of the NMDOG TEAM every step of the way. We take the time to really get to know the needs & personalities of our kids & we go the extra mile to ensure we make the best possible match...setting our dogs & their humans up for success! Our adoption fee is $250 which includes; a 7 week NMDOG obedience/bonding class with their new family (classes are located in Abq & are also offered to our foster guardians), a complimentary vet wellness check & our dogs come with all of the supplies they need to get started on a trial adoption in their new home. NMDOG doesn't cut any corners when it comes to the care & placement of our dogs. When a dog enters the NMDOG program, they are guaranteed to receive the very best of care. All of our available dogs have received a full medical & behavioral clearance prior to placement. They are (at the very minimum) spayed or neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, Heartworm tested & currently on HW/flea & tick preventative. Due to the nature of our work, many of the dogs we rescue need much more extensive care before they are cleared for adoption. At NMDOG, we stand by our dogs for life & we make a promise to always be there for them (& their people) should they ever need us. .
