Ax was born on the 4th of July and he will bring fireworks to your life. He is 78.5 lbs and full of energy and loves to explore. Ax has met cats a couple of times now and has done well. He is currently living with another retired racer and a small terrier and gets along with both. He has learned to stay out of the kitchen and that he should not try to help wash dishes. Ax kennels well and most of the time does not mind spending time in his kennel. In his new retired life, he discovered the comforts of dog beds and then the joy of toys. He usually has a squeaky toy or a squeaky ball in his mouth. It is hard to get a good picture of Ax when he is up because he is always moving. Ax is not a couch potato greyhound and is ready to go wherever you want to go. He also rides well in a car. Ax is a big goof ball with lots of love to give. He is ready for an active home that can teach him the ropes.



This dog is being fostered in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Area. We do not ship dogs. Adopters must be committed to meeting the dog in the area it is being fostered.

The adoption fee for HGA is $300.00. This fee pays for medical costs including spay/neuter surgery, shots, parasite treatments, teeth cleaning, microchip and microchip registration fee. Each dog also comes with a special sighthound collar and leash set and muzzle. There is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
