Ava is about 11 months old and we are calling her a “special needs” girl. We are posting her now as it may take a while to find the right family for her. You see - Ava is pretty much terrified of everything, especially humans. She lived outside on a family ranch but had little interaction with humans, because of that - she would be classified as completely under socialized. Ava is on her toes with every noise and movement, bolting as if her life depended on running. With other dogs around and you are sitting down, she will come up and allow you to briefly touch her. Ava is ok being on leash and will walk around with you or lay down next to you when you sit but she is always on edge. The other dogs do seem to keep her more “down to earth”. We do ask you to have experience working with scared dogs, a 6’ fenced in yard and at least one other large breed dog for her to take comfort in. Ava is very active outside with the dogs and loves to run and play. She enjoys the toys and needs to be close to at least one of the dogs all the time. She would do best with dogs who are well balanced, easy going and not dominant. Because she is scared of everything, a home with no children is recommended. She pays no attention to the resident cat. She is being fostered in fort morgan and if you would like to submit your app we can talk more about her and what she needs to head towards becoming part of your pack. If we move forward, this will require multiple trips to fort morgan to spend time with her. We know in time we can replace the worried look on her face with happy grins.
