Meet Autumn
Autumn came to SGSDR after being picked up as a stray in Kentucky. She's estimated to be around 1-2 yrs old, give or take. This spunky girl is petite for a German Shepherd - but that doesn't slow her down one bit.
Autumn can do well with another dog in the home, but does have some excitable/reactive behaviors to work on with her new family. When she sees another dog, she barks and gets very excited - and to some, it may seem as though she's not being very nice --- but really, she's just so excited to see the other dog, and she doesn't have the manners and skills to express it appropriately yet. With training and maturity, Autumn can learn to focus on her handler and be calm around other dogs. When meeting other dogs one on one, she wants to play but her rough and tumble style may be a bit much for an older dog or a very small pup.
She has not been tested with cats or children. Her energy may be a bit much for small kids, but she would probably love older kids to play with.
Autumn does well in a home environment - she appears to be house trained, and seems to know what a bed and a couch are for! She would do best with an active family that's up for showing her the ropes when it comes to leash manners and basic obedience. She crates and rides well in a car.

* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
