Augustus Hound & Corgi Mix Scranton, PA

Augustus (Gus, for short) was recently rescued from a high kill southern shelter. He was brought into the shelter with two other female dogs when the owner was no longer able to care for them. Originally, Gus was kept in a cage in the shelter's medical room. He did appear to be crate trained at that time. Gus is a little bit shy but he is very sweet. He is good with people and great with other dogs. We are unsure as to how he would do with cats at this time. Caution should always be taken when introducing any new dog to resident cats regardless of how they test at the shelter. This sweet boy is about three years of age and he weighs about 35 lbs. He is listed as a Hound/Corgi mix but only a DNA test will tell his true breed make up. We believe that we may see some spaniel in his mix but cannot say for sure. Augustus is neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations and he has recently been treated for heart=worm disease. He is well past his "restricted activity" part of his recovery and ready to pack his bags and head on up to PA to find his "forever" home. Augustus will be available for adoption, or foster, on Sunday Sept. 26th and we are taking applications for him now. Much care is taken to include as much information on each dog or puppy as we have on-hand at the time the dogs are posted. Dogs who have adoptions scheduled are marked as "pending" and we will not be taking any applications on those dogs.
We will not adopt a dog to you if all of your current pets are not spayed/neutered. This is a non-negotiable policy. All cats and dogs MUST be up-to-date with their rabies vaccinations, including indoor only cats.

We are trying to strictly follow all suggested safety precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic. All recommendations will be respected with as limited person-to-person contact as allowed.
