Augusta Feist & Chihuahua Mix West Falls, NY

Augusta is a 2 year old mixed breed (paperwork says Feist x Chihuahua) weighing just under 25lbs. She was pulled from a shelter in KY with a litter of puppies and after raising them and seeing them off to their new homes, she’s moved up north to find her own family!

Augusta is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on a leash once comfortable. She was clearly not treated well in the past and is fearful of being touched suddenly. She is making progress and loves to be pet/cuddle, but needs to go to adopters who will go slow and respect her space, letting her initiate contact at her own pace. Because of this we are requiring a fully fenced yard so she does not need to be rushed into accepting a leash being clipped on by unfamiliar people.

Augusta is dog friendly but appreciates a quiet and respectful greeting, is good with dog-savvy cats, and becomes best friends with people she meets fairly quickly but we are looking for a home with respectful children over the age of 10 if any. She has a fun, bubbly personality with energy to keep up with an active family but loves to cuddle up on the couch at the end of the day.
