Attica's Story

Meet Attica, aka Addy a chill but active and playful 3-year-old dog available for adoption.

Attica requires a home with other dogs to support her balanced mental well-being. Although she may seem shy and fearful, she thrives in a pack. Attica needs consistent nurturing with discipline and encouragement to tackle new challenges. The other dogs in the home should be confident, friendly, active, playful, and well-balanced. It's best for Attica not to be in a home with children, as they can either make her happy or nervous.

Adopt me, feed me, and never leave me. Attica is waiting for her happy forever family to adopt her. She is active but not hyper, shy and timid and at first unsure, so patience will be needed. However, once she's settled in and adapted, she is extremely outgoing and simply just fabulously great. Patience, nurturing, and a balanced pack are all she needs.

Attica is great with all dogs of all ages and sizes, cats, and best with mature older children. Attica walks great on a leash, house, and crate trained. Muscular at most 37 pounds and already fully grown at 3 years old. She loves car rides, is extremely food/treat motivated, and is an amazing snuggle buddy, too. And an excellent running buddy, for sure.

Attica has accomplished and succeeded in basic obedience training and is well-mannered but still puppy-like with plenty of curiosity. What more could anyone want? She is a gorgeous mutt mix. Could that be a dealbreaker? I hope NOT! If so, you are MISSING OUT!

Attica is house and crate-trained. She walks great on a leash and her recall off leash is excellent.

All Adoptions Include:
• Spayed/Neutered
• Rabies Vaccination: 1 or 3 years.
• All Age Appropriate Core Vaccinations Including Lepto & Corona. 1 or 3 years.
• Heartworm tested Negative.
•Receive monthly Heartworm, Flea, and Tick Prevention.
• Lyme Disease Tested Negative.
• Dewormed and Fecal tested Negative.
• All testing completed within 6 -12 months.
•All age-appropriate needs (blood work, dental, testing, and meds)
• Lifetime Microchip Registration includes free unlimited updates.
•Feed a quality protein diet

Adoption Processing:
•Adoption application review can take up to 3 weeks.
• A minimum of 2 Meet & Greets are required before adopting.
•A home check needs to take place.
• Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense.
• We Do NOT ship any of our adoptable pets.
• Adoption fees are paid at the time of adoption
•No exchange or request for money is required before adoption.
•No payment plans.

AHRS Former Adopter:
• No adoption fee is required; a donation of choice is expected, encouraged, welcome, and appreciated.

Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. We share all known detailed information about every pet in our care. This helps adopters (you) make an educated, informed decision when it comes to adopting one of ours. We make sure all potential adopters are informed and aware of our adoption policy and each dog/cat/rabbit's personality, daily needs, health and behavior history, any probable long-term concerns, and all known behaviors. We share it all! We hope you will give us the same courtesy, as it is crucial to match our pets with the right Forever Family. What to expect when adopting from AHRS? Besides all of the above, a supportive rescue family. Our adopters become family too. They will never just be a number. We strive and hope we stay involved/in touch, and that you can find in us a friend. We offer lifetime support to all our AHRS animals and adopters. We are always available to answer any questions concerns doubts or a listening ear. We want to get to know all potential adopters as much as they want to get to know the pet they are interested in adopting. So be prepared to complete an adoption application that asks for detailed specific information about you, your family, your home/environment, and day-to-day life. But more importantly, do include detailed information questions about specific needs wanted desires requests do's, and don't when wanting to adopt. This helps us offer other available adoptables you may not be aware of. Basic but crucial information to help best place our adoptable pets and please you. Please ask as many questions as you need to. Be as picky and specific as you need to be. This is what makes our adoptions successful and forever. You should expect a very thorough but simple basic screening. The process takes time being an all-volunteer base program. Vet reference check, meet and greets, answering all questions asked by potential adopters and vice versa. Making the process slow but steady. But more importantly successful. Adoption should never be an impulsive decision. But yes passionate informative and confident. We also offer a trial period, pup dates, and as many meet and greets as needed within reason until we are all on the same page. adoptahrescue.org Animalhrs@gmail.com @AH Rescue &_Sanctuary FB /Instagram
