Meet Athena!

Athena is best-guessed to be a Great Dane mix. She is estimated to be around 1-1.5 years old. For size reference, she weighs 95 pounds. She found her way to us as a stray and was never reclaimed. When Athena arrived at the HSLC, she was very timid and nervous. It took her a couple days to warm up to staff. She is very frightened in new environments or with new experiences, so she is seeking a patient adopter that will allow her to decompress in the home. Athena has come out of her shell a lot over the time she has been here. She enjoys affection from her human friends, and does the Great Dane lean! Athena knows to "sit" on command and likes snacks. She gets the zoomies in the play yard and loves to run freely. A fenced in yard is recommended for Athena, as she is still learning to walk on a leash and she is a flight risk at this time. She would do well with older, dog-savvy children. She does well with other dogs, and loves to play with them! Canine siblings would depend upon a meet and greet.
