If you're looking for a dog who will jump with enthusiasm with total strangers, that is not Athena.  Athena is highly attuned. Athena is more of a human than a dog.  Fascinating girl! Most dogs react first. Not Athena. She thinks things through before she reacts.

Athena walks perfectly on a leash and off leash! People have stopped their cars and complimented Athena's beauty. She obeys all commands, sits and waits patiently for her food or treats, giving the person full eye contact.  

Athena is more a spectator when it comes to playing with other dogs, as she is simply not interested in participating. Athena is tolerant  of other dogs, but would thrive as being the only dog.  Athena has been tested with cats; she was respectful but leery.  A quiet home where Athena is the only light of someone's life would be her ideal home.

We have a nutritional program that stands high in providing dogs their every need.  Feed a dog to do more than survive.  Feed a dog to thrive.  Our dogs are fed top quality kibble -- rotating manufacturers -- fresh fruits and vegetables, raw egg and raw protein three times a week and raw diet- a dog's natural ancestral need -- four times a week. Fleas are diet related! Our dogs do not need flea/tick prevention because fleas do not like the taste of healthy blood   At bedtime all our dogs are given a hunk of fresh sweet potato.  Not only do they love the treat, it serves to clean their teeth!  There is nothing to support feeding the same meal every day.  No one dog food has it all.  One formula cannot provide a dog's nutritional needs long term.   Food rotation -- VARIETY -- covers all the bases for a dog's natural biological needs. Dogs are not koala bears. We are always happy to provide advice on keeping a dog out of the vet's office and ensuring many more years of healthy life.
