Aster Shepherd & Shiba Inu Mix Minneapolis, MN

Aster is a friendly, exuberant, and loyal 9-month-old pup looking for her forever home - a forever home that can love her just as fiercely as she will love them.

Aster came to Pet Haven from a shelter partner and at some point, prior to being at the shelter, she suffered a severe injury to one of her limbs. She has had surgery to mend her femur, pelvis, and tail, is recovering well, and is expected to regain most use of the limb.

This experience has done nothing to dull her outlook on life – she loves being alive and living each day like it is the best day ever! Aster wants to be right with you as much as she can whether it is helping to “wash” dishes after dinner, playing a game of fetch, going on walks, or snuggling up on the couch while you watch your favorite movie – she is her happiest when she is by your side.

Aster is great with kids too! While she is likely too much energy for young kids, she definitely has the best time running around with them and playing.

She has been going to work on occasion with her foster human. She is fine with being left at home for an hour or two but will not be happy being alone all day unless she has a canine companion. If her forever human(s) work from home, she will happily fill the role of remote work companion too!

Aster passionately believes that all stuffed animals need de-stuffing, and that gardening* is a necessary activity for all dogs. *Gardening which includes careful destruction of all plants within reach and breaking every stick found into very tiny pieces. Squirrel control is provided free of charge.

Aster loves other dogs and can adapt to those around her; however, we are recommending that she be trained into a new home without other dogs until she is 100% comfortable with the humans in her world. Once she gets commands and listening down too, she would love to have a canine companion!

Aster is great at making new friends. She is so great at making new friends and will literally follow anyone anywhere if they shower her with praise. Because of this, we really are looking for a home that has some type of fenced yard. In addition to a fenced in yard of her own, this adorable and loving 40-pound bulldozer at times is looking for room to roam inside her forever home (not a match for apartments).

You will not find a more loving, happy, and loyal companion than Aster. She is so full of joy and has an incredible zest for life and cannot wait to meet you!

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, & Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant including registration. Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. All ages and breeds are best guess.

Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the adopter is willing to drive to cities as needed.
