Ash was rescued from a breeder who surrendered him and many others. Ash's former breeder had been in trouble with the USDA several times for poor quality of care. The breeder told us Ash was 3 years old, but we suspect he is closer to 5.
Overall Ash is in pretty good physical shape with just an ear infection and some minor skin irritations when he arrived. Due to lack of positive social interactions with people he is a little hesitant with people. However, he is making HUGE strides with foster mom (still a little unsure of the husband). He looks forward to one on one cuddle times with foster mom and is gaining trust each day! His favorite thing is running free in the backyard with his foster fur siblings. He is even good with the puppies in the home!
Ash has the most gorgeous blue eyes and a soft coat. When he gets his full coat he will be even more gorgeous!
Ash's adoption fee is $365 to help us cover our expenses. He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for an application!
WE DO ADOPT OUT OF THE AREA, HOWEVER, WE DO NOT SHIP NOR ARRANGE TRANSPORTS. YOU WILL HAVE TO COME TO DECATUR, IL TO MEET THE DOG. IF FLYING, DOGS MUST FLY IN THE CABIN AND THE EXPENSE OF THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE IS ON THE ADOPTER.
THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS.

PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY OFTEN, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU.
