Asgore is a big love bug who cannot wait to meet you! Asgore is looking for a furever home where he can chill, be with his people and live out the rest of his life. He’s great meeting new people and is currently living with other dogs. He is housebroken but has had no other obedience training so he is still learning about house manners. Asgore has a fairly calm demeanor and a typical stubborn Pyr personality (DNA 100% Pyr!)...so don’t try to put him in a crate, he will get out :) But a crate is not needed since he doesn’t seem to have any separation anxiety. After he goes outside he will wait politely by the door to be brought back in. Asgore has lots of fans at the vet and wins over everyone he meets. He jumps right in the car when it’s time to go, excited to accompany his humans on their next adventure! Asgore will need a pyr-experienced owner to continue the training his foster has started. He will make an excellent companion for a person or family with dog-savvy teens looking for a great pet. He’s a very sweet boy with lots of love to give. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
