Meet Ariel (Mermaid Litter)

Under the sea, wish I could be, part of your world! Hi! I’m Ariel and just like the song, I am looking to be part of your world. I am a Border Collie/Lab mix and only 14 weeks old. I only weigh 14 pounds! I haven’t had all my puppy shots yet but I am working on it. I am also almost fully potty trained. I have not had much experience on a leash and haven’t been crate trained yet, so maybe we can work on those skills together.

Here’s my story of how I came to the Cantu Foundation, get ready for a doozy. My siblings and I were actually found all alone by a good samaritan on top of a Mountain in Mexico. The good samaritan looked around for our mom but sadly found her deceased. My mom had defensive wounds since she probably died protecting my siblings and I. She made the biggest sacrifice a mother can do, give up her life so her babies can live. I am so grateful to my momma. When found, my siblings and I were skin and bones, covered in ticks and mange. After rescuing us, the good samaritan thought it would be humane to euthanize us since they did not have the financial ability to treat us. That was scary, but thankfully, she reached out to the Cantu Foundation and they agreed to take us in immediately! We were rushed to the vet since we weren’t doing so well, and ended up testing positive for some puppy disease called parvo. We had to stay in a hospital but everyone was really kind and we are all better now!

My siblings and I have been thriving in our foster homes. Even though I had a pretty rough start to life, I am a very sweet girl. I love all dogs and am kid friendly. I haven’t met any meowers yet so I’m not sure how I feel about them. I am a very active and very sweet puppy. I’ve also been described as confident and spunky, just like the princess I was named after! That’s probably why I don’t show any signs of seperation anxiety. My favorite activity is playing with my siblings and foster brother, I love playing with squeaky toys and playing tug of war with them. I also love to spend time outside on the patio. Meal time is my favorite time of the day, I am very food motivated! My foster pawrents would want me to tell you I am spunky, confident, and sweet. I would want to tell you I am also very cute. My dream home is easy; one filled with lots of love! I am pretty easy going so I will adapt well to any home.

My adoption fee is $500, this fee covers my first year of vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html
