Meet Ariel

Meet Ariel. — She is around 3 years old, house and crate trained, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm free. Rare for a Doberman, she likes to be outside. She is easy to be around, quiet and unassuming. She is good with other dogs, but likes to chase cats so will need a home without. She is also good with older kids. Ariel has natural floppy ears and a long tail.

Ariel had a very difficult start in life. She came into the shelter on a catch pole and wanted zero human interaction - she was completely shut down and in the corner of the kennel, so GCDR pulled her and put her in a foster home where she has been for almost a year now. But the world was not kind and it left some scars: Ariel is fearful. She needs a stable environment with kind patient humans. She is easily startled and often lacks the confidence to respond to commands. She approaches people very cautiously and on her own terms. Sudden movements cause her to freeze or run away in fear.

We hope there is someone that will read her biography and feel compelled to extend a huge kindness to a dog that really needs a break. She wants to be a happy dog; she just doesn’t know how. A home with gentle people and a dog to show her how to be a dog would be perfect. Ariel is a sweet girl - we hope someone will give her a chance - she deserves it.
