Meet Archie
Hi there…my name is Archie!
I am a 7-month old uber handsome Chihuahua dreaming of a true forever home that will see past my initial fear of new people.
You see, I was originally adopted when I was 10 weeks old and just returned to my original foster home. As a very young puppy I was not socialized as well as I should have been. Because of that I am frightened by new people and places….but please keep reading because I work SO hard to be brave and i warm up quickly! Once I warm up to you, we are stuck like glue and I’m a super cool dude! Let me tell you some of the great things you’ll see if you see past my initial fearfulness:
*I love car rides
*Walks are my fave!
*Pup Cup? Yes Puhleeeease
*Treats?! I love treats! Treats are the way to my heart!
*Crate? No problem!
*I love to play outside!
*OH MY GOSH are we going to bed?! I love bedtime!
Let’s cuddle all night!
*Where is the toy box? I love to collect them and play!
*I love my human! I will follow my human anywhere!
*I recently mastered the doggie door in my foster home!
*I love to be told what a good boy I am!
My foster mom says that I may not “show well” at adoption events because I am not super comfortable around new people or in new places. She says that’s ok though because after I have around 24 hours to decompress I come out of my shell and begin to trust.
Once you earn my trust - I become more brave and willing to try new things with my person! I would be fine with calm/older dogs who don’t jump around and try to jump on me and get in my face. In fact I love other dogs and want another dog friend in my forever home!
What am I searching for? A fresh start with a patient person who can see past my initial fear and get to know me. I promise, I am a really good and loving and playful boy! Won’t you give me my true forever?
I am about 60-70% house-trained but I always go on the puppy pads left by the door if I can't make it out in time!
I am neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $200.
To adopt me, just go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application and complete the application for me!
