Archi's Story
Meet Archi!

Archibald, “Archi”, was picked up as a stray in rough shape, with a skinny body, thinning hair, and a wonky, stumbly gait. This (approximate) 10-year-old gentleman quickly won over the shelter staff with his friendly demeanor, greeting everyone he passed – man, woman, adult, child, tall, short – walking up to them for a kiss on the hand as his tail constantly wagged. After some time in the shelter and now in foster care, his weight has improved to a solid 35-40 pounds, and his spunky personality shines!

Archi would love a home with another medium-energy dog or older child to romp around and play with. He loves all dogs and people, big or small. He would do best with children 8 years old and up. His stiff back legs make him walk funny and he has scoliosis, but he doesn’t let that keep him down! In fact, that’s part of his charm. He loves to go on walks in the park or to the local brewery to hangout. He’s the ultimate sidekick!

Archi is house and crate trained. He has been crated for several hours with a little bit of whimpering until left alone. He is usually left to free roam with the other dogs and leaves shoes alone when bored (though quite a few napkins and bits of packing paper have met their demise).

Archi spends his days following his foster mom around the house, playing with crinkle toys and napping when it’s quiet time. Archi loves to get dressed up in pjs, sweaters, rain jackets, and hats, turning into quite a stylish pup. He’s extremely treat-motivated and will automatically sit and wag his tail if he senses food is coming. He’s a clever little dude who loves mental stimulation. Dog food/treat activity toys (puzzles, lick mats) keep him happy in more ways than one!

Once he’s gotten the wiggles out, he is all sweetness and cuddles, jumping up on the couch and snuggling into your lap with his tongue poking out. If allowed to sleep on the bed, he will lay down next to his people and plop over into little spoon position for the night. It’s THE SWEETEST THING. He practically melts into you. Archi really just wants to be close to his family and show them love and appreciation.

If Archi sounds like the perfect fit for you, please complete the linked application below (you may have to copy and paste the link into a new browser) or send us an email and we can send you the link!
