Meet April
Name: April
Breeds: Beagle Mix
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Female
April comes from a hoarding case where she was taken with 14 other dogs from a small home where they have lived their entire life. This poor girl arrived to the shelter terrified and has made significant improvements in her time there. She was probably never really socialized the way that most dogs are, so she is shy and will need time to adjust to living in a home and doing normal dog things like being on a leash. Despite her shyness, she has never shown an ounce of aggression and she loves to be loved on and comforted. She is just so sweet!! She will need a patient adopter, ideally with another confident dog in the home, but we will consider her as an only dog also. Because she has not lead a normal life up until now, she will need work with potty training and crate training but she so very much wants to please, we think this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. She is going to be terrified at first, but we promise after a few days she will start to come out of her shell. All adoptions have a two week trial period to ensure the right fit for both human and dog! April is positive for heartworm disease and will be treated by our vets after she arrives. More information on heartworm and treatment can be found here: http://headinghomek9rescue.com/Heartworm.pdf
Requirements: Home with fenced yard
Adoption Fee: $450 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing if appropriate, deworming, microchip, and current preventatives
