Hello, my name is Apollo, and I’m a Great Pyrenees in search of a forever family who will love me for who I am. I’m a big, fluffy boy, and I’m still figuring out what the world has in store for me—especially since I came into rescue from an animal shelter. Life has been a little confusing at times, but I’m starting to feel more at home with each passing day.

Right now, I’m staying at the boarding clinic while I wait for that special family to find me. I’m a bit underweight at the moment (those shelter meals weren’t the best), so I’m working on gaining some pounds to get back to my full strength. Don’t worry—I’m eating well and getting the nutrition I need!

When it comes to other dogs, I’m pretty curious but not overly interested. I’ve walked by some of my fellow canines at the kennel and I’m always intrigued, though I’m not in a rush to make new friends just yet. I’m more focused on figuring out my own place in the world, but I’m friendly enough and open to getting to know others. I haven’t had any issues with loud noises or traffic, which is a relief. It seems like I’m adjusting well to life outside of the shelter.

I’m a little shy when I first meet new people, but don’t let that fool you! Once I warm up, I’m all about affection. The clinic staff has been so sweet to me, and after my intake exam (which was a bit scary for me), I just wanted to be loved on by everyone. I’m learning that not all humans are scary, and I’m starting to trust again.

I’m also learning some important stuff like my name and the "sit" command! I’m a good listener, and I’m eager to please, so with a little guidance, I’ll be an obedient boy in no time. I do have some leash manners to work on—I can be a bit strong and pull when I’m walking, but we’re practicing, and I’m getting better at it.

When it comes to my living situation, I’ve been a good boy in my kennel—I haven’t had any accidents, and I’m always waiting patiently for my meals. I’m not food aggressive, so you don’t have to worry about me being protective over my food. I’m just happy to have a meal and some love. And when it comes to being touched, I’m a big fan of pets and cuddles! I’m not shy about getting some affection, though I’ll need a little time to adjust to new situations and new people.

Oh, and I do have a bit to say sometimes! I’m not much of a barker, but I definitely talk when I see my humans leaving or coming back from the kennel. I just want to make sure you know I’m here and ready for attention. I’m a sweet boy at heart, and I just want to be part of a family who’ll take care of me and love me for the big, goofy, affectionate boy that I am.
