Meet Apollo
Meet Apollo! This handsome guy originally joined us from our friends at St. Louis County Animal Care a few months back. He was adopted, but unfortunately there were some changes in the household, and Apollo wasn't so sure about all the new people visiting, and he has found himself back at SGSDR. He's a great boy, and he LOVES his people, but he would prefer a quiet/predictable home life.
Apollo is about 4 years old, full of energy, knows “sit,” will give “paw” for treats, and will play fetch for as long as your arm can stand it. Nope, we are not kidding ... at all!
The big guy was fearful in the shelter and didn't know which way was up. But once settled into his foster home, his fun-loving, mischievous, and sweet personality bloomed, and Apollo got along well with his canine foster siblings and adult humans alike. He is a bit timid with new folks, but warms up once he knows you're good people.
Apollo's interest level (good or bad) with cats or small pets is unknown. He got along great with his human's dog-savvy 12 and 13 year old kids. Given his energy and brash-young-GSD spirit, we think he will be best set up to succeed in a home with no small children. He can succeed in a home with older, dog-savvy kids like his foster family's when led by experienced adults who require responsible play and supervision.

Our Adoption Fees:

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $400
* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $350
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $350 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
