A Dash of Sass and a Whole Lot of Love

Anya’s the picture of a dog who decided life’s too short not to have fun. She’s five years old, about 42 pounds, a Staffordshire Terrier and Lab mix with the kind of spirit that fills a home. She’s playful, expressive, and just a little bit dramatic — the kind who makes you laugh even when she’s up to something. Whether she’s wrestling with the water hose or leaning in too hard for pets, she’s all in, every time.

She came from a Texas shelter where she was raising eleven puppies like a single mom holding down three jobs. Most would’ve thrown in the towel after number five, but Anya powered through with grit and grace — and probably a lot of side-eye. Now that her mom days are behind her, she’s living her best life, chasing hose water, rolling in grass, and reminding everyone that joy doesn’t have to be fancy.

She’s what we call a social chameleon — the kind of dog who matches the vibe and gives it right back. If Milo wants to chill and sniff the perimeter, she’s down for the slow stroll. But if the crew’s running full-speed, high-octane tag? You’re it. Anya’s got the kind of energy that fills the space she’s in — sometimes calm, sometimes chaotic, always full of heart.

She’s calm and easy most of the time, but when playtime hits, she’s rough-and-rowdy in the best way. She’s got selective hearing — she hears you, she’s just busy living her truth — and she’s usually doing something that makes her people laugh. Inside, she’s affectionate, loyal, and perfectly content to melt into a couch or nap on your feet like she pays rent there.

Anya’s great with kids, loves her people like it’s her job, and would be just as happy as an only dog soaking up all the love. What she really wants is a fenced yard for a few daily zoomies and a family who finds joy in the funny, imperfect, real kind of dog that makes a house feel like home.

She’s fully vetted, spayed, and ready to roll — a water-loving, attention-hogging, endlessly lovable girl who’s equal parts silly and soulful. The kind of dog that reminds you life’s better when you laugh first, love big, and keep the hose handy.

Anya is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week.
