Meet Annie

Ms Annie - Adult Female Westie. Senior (approx. 10-11 years old), 17#. Shots updated and good to go. Little Ms Annie comes into our program as her owner has moved into assisted living and could not take her. She would like to have her own place with a new great owner. Ms Annie has had her “Tune Up” (health checkup, blood testing, shots updated, nail trim, and a bath. All Annie needs now is good food, a few walks a day, a someone who will allow her to become their best buddy. She is happy, healthy and would like to sit on a chair or couch with you as she will follow you everywhere! She would like a new home with a human who has a soft couch or chair (see pictures above).

Given a choice, Annie would like a stay at home/retired humans, but a home-based working mom/dad is ok too. One who has a fenced in small yard and/or one who likes frequent walks to go potty. She is good girl who builds trust slowly. She wants attention but on her terms. NEVER try to clean her eyes as that is way too close to the muzzle. She an older girl who lived in home with a senior who was moved into memory care before she died. She has learned that hands coming for her or reaching for her will not be a good thing. She will however, run across the room to jump up on your lap to get a neck scratch and a back rub before settling in next to you so you can continue.

Best Home: No kids no other dogs: Annie will need an experienced Westie owner who is willing to take her on warts and all. Someone who can give her space and not push every button on her. A fenced in yard will make everyone happy. She had decided that stairs are too much for weak old knees. She does not want her eyes cleaned and is very grumping if startled when sleeping as she is a very sound sleeper, - “Don’t bother me when I am sleeping!” She is NOT food aggressive and loves people. She will tell you she needs to go out by going to the door and giving it a scratch especially after sleeping. She sleeps on blanket or a bed right near your bed at night and wakes up happy!

Ms Annie says: “I need a really soft bed to snooze in. I love slow walks and exploring the outdoors. I like sitting on a front porch watching everyone come and go. This way I get to bark at the big dogs. I am a very good-looking Westie with GREAT fur and a pretty face. I like a good neck and cheek scratch on your chair. I walk well on a lead; I like to meet other dogs and I like people. I am VERY attentive. I like to play with humans and my toys for 20 mins then sleep for 2 hrs. I come when called…well not so much, I sit on command, and I am house trained unless my bladder is way too full from drinking too much water. I like to snooze in a dog bed too. I sleep soundly so you will need to clap your hands to wake me. I like to be near you. I have a few quirks but who doesn’t when you get older?

I am currently with Uncle Stephen sleeping in his home office in Northern VA. I sleep a whole lot. Did I tell you I have great fur and I need a big doggy bed and if you touch my muzzle or startle me I might nip you? Well I was told to be upfront about myself. I like Uncle Stephen a lot and he can do almost anything to me as he is in charge around here and I want to suck up to get some treats and go for walks!"

Call and schedule a visit today! Call now as there is only one of me and I could use a new bed!”
