Meet Angie
Angie was originally rescued from CACC in 2017. She was found as a stray in an alley in Chicago. Our foster Michaelyn took her in and she was adopted a few weeks later.
Sadly, Angie’s mom is having health issues and surrendered Angie back to us. Her original foster mom took her back in for the short term, but Angie needs a longer term foster or adoptive home. Poor Angie’s world has been turned upside down. She was trembling and crying in the car, confused as to why she was taken away from her home. Angie is currently decompressing and her foster mom is giving her space to relax.
Angie is 6 years old, spayed, microchipped, current on heart-worm prevention and her vaccines. She is a bit overweight now and needs to loose about 10-15 pounds. Angie lived as an only dog but she has done well with proper introduction to other dogs.. She has never lived with children, so we’d recommend older children.. Her previous adopter described her as mannerly, intelligent, attentive, easy-going, sensitive, and protective.
Angie is housebroken and does not require a crate. She knows sit, down, wait, drop it, and will fetch mail! Angie loves tug and her squeaky ball. Angie is a typical Shepherd that attaches quickly to her person. Her new adoptive home will need to work with her on socialization and help her build up her endurance again. We are already seeing her come out of her shell!
